This is the latest version of Is That a Bulletin Manager! As you
should expect with all good TDBS software, if you're using a previous
version of this program, the files will automaticly be upgraded to
their new formats!
This file is intended to be a quick informational for the "seasoned"
ISBULL user. If this is the first time you've seen/heard/taken a look at
this program, you should really be reading the main documentation. Even if
you are a regular ISBULL user, I would recommend reading the documentation,
especially parts denoted by an asterick (*) as they specificly relate to
1.3 features.
I would like to thank all of those people who have registered
the program! The cost for this version has gone up from $5 to $10. The
size has more than doubled, it's been streamlined a bit more, and in general,
I think the features warrent it. I also think that $10 is still pretty cheap
for TDBS software. If you use this program regularly, please register it with
your check for $10!

o Use of memo fields. The main purpose for this addition is to grab
the TDBS memo editor so you can edit your bulletin files while
the system is online. Support for using memo fields instead of files
is all there, but I don't recommend it. Why? You can't stop/pause
memo field listings in the bulletin section (the reason why I use the
TBBS TYPE 1 command is to allow users to view text just like they
should expect to anywhere else on your TBBS system).
o Language file support. As a part of the automatic conversion process,
the file ????????.LNG will be created which contains all text strings
for the BULLETIN MODULE ONLY. Before editing it BE SURE TO READ
THE SECTION IN THE MAIN DOCUMENTATION! There are a few rules you
MUST adhere to when editing or risk a munged up-looking bulletin
module.
o Different date formats. Not sure how useful this will prove, but it
was a relatively simple thing to add. Should work in configuration
and display as TBBS does (either read these docs or the CEDIT
System Configuration section in the TBBS 2.2 docs).
o Blinking colors. Wasn't too hard to add, it does make the editing
of colors a little more messy looking, but I think it's WELL WORTH IT
to be OBNOXIOUS as possible to tell the users in ugly blinking colors
that they "Must read all bulletins!"! :)
o File attaches. You may add a single file to each bulletin that you
may want your user to download. You can also opt for the user to
download the text file of the bulletin! The purpose? I'd like to
start offering the SysOps in my net the eSoft mods. What could be
better than having the text bulletin as MODFIXES.DOC and the
attach UPDBIN.ZIP?

│FIXES│
└─────┘
o Updating the Configuration caused the "view" flag for clear for
each bulletin (ie. Users would have to read the same bulletin over
again even if you just changed the path/title/skips)
o Lowered the "You must read all bulletins" text to just above the
command prompt. After observing for myself that users for some
strange reason didn't understand that they had to "Read all bulletins"
and having another Sysop relay that this was happening in his system
as well, I thought this (and using the blinking colors option) would in
some cases help out.
o Not having your first bulletin defined would cause ISBULL to run
rather messily. Now, if the title for the very first bulletin is
empty, ISBULL will quit.
o Some screen display redundancies were fixed.
